I assumed the markdown was part of the early holiday sales, but they might just be trying to get them out the door before the bad reviews come in. I played with the display settings for hours, but the picture just isn't good enough. The pixels are visible. There's a white pixelation on the edges of most shapes, especially people, that can only be reduced by turning the sharpness way down, leaving the picture nowhere close to 1080p. Live tv looks terrible. People in general look terrible. I watch a lot of sports and commentary, and there's enough ghosting to be completely distracting. When commentators speak, it legitimately looks like zombie teeth, as if they had giant, half-transparent teeth. There's a discernible lag time when people move, and you can actually see the tv catch up and become clear a half second after people stop... (picture settings), By This review is from: Samsung UN40H5003 40-Inch 1080p 60Hz LED TV (Electronics) I purchased this on black Friday locally at a retail store. At first I was fighting to get a half decent picture out of the TV but after owning it for almost a week I have finally figured out the picture settings!A lot of people are unhappy with the picture their budget model Samsung. This is fixed using some simple settings, these settings only work on an HDMI input, in my case I was trying to get my ps4 games and video to look great. I realized that first you MUST change the input label of your device. Say you have a ps4 plugged into the HDMI 1 port. You need to go into the TV settings under input labels, change the label to "PC". This will give you a near pixel perfect image straight from your HDMI device! It cleared up so much pixelation that was happening. Also, I turned my picture settings to the following , Backlight 15 Contrast 90 Brightness 45 Sharpness 20 Leave the rest alone but disable any picture correcting features... The only thing that threw me off was that I measured it and it is actually only 36 inches long not 40. Other than that its perfect for what I want to use it for 0 |
